Manufacturing Manager

In Jeddah, ALPLA Plastics Middle East Saudi Industrial Ltd Co. has a vacancy for a Manufacturing Manager who will run both production and maintenance at the plant. The post is filed under Manufacturing Management and covers two linked areas, production and maintenance. The manager also works with the Head of Operations on budget preparation and on the plant’s efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manages the daily production plan, staffing schedules and output against target, and works to shorten cycle times and cut material use and waste
• Sets up preventive maintenance routines, monitors downtime and spare parts, and protects tooling in line with global standards
• Carries out 5S assessments, GMP audits, risk evaluations and Gemba walks to uphold safety standards and company policy
• Defines department KPIs, follows energy and consumption figures, investigates operational problems and files monthly reports with management
• Identifies staff training needs, leads regular operational syncs and keeps departments in communication
• Assists the Head of Operations with budget preparation and supports plant efficiency and profitability

Requirements

• Experience in plastic packaging manufacturing, preferably in Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM)
• Experience leading production teams and shift operations, with a hands-on leadership style and solid planning, organizational and team development skills
• Technical knowledge of EBM processes, equipment and tooling
• Command of manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, scrap reduction, cycle time, downtime and production efficiency
• Troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence methods
• Understanding of quality systems, food safety requirements and HSE standards
• Very good English, spoken and written, for leading a multicultural workforce

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with new machine installations, mold transfers, commissioning or production start-ups
• Injection molding experience, preferably in caps and closures
• Hindi and/or Urdu
• Arabic
