Editorial Policy

This page explains how Madar Jobs works: what we publish, what we reject, how we write each listing and how we correct mistakes.

What we publish

A listing is published as its own job when it has a clear job title, a place of work (a city, a country, or remote work stated outright), a real way to apply, and real details about the work itself, such as duties, requirements, pay or contract length. The employer’s name is not required. Many employers ask not to be named, and we then show «Employer not disclosed».

A legitimate listing that is too short to stand on its own is not published alone. We group it with similar listings on one page, by city, specialty or employer. Free training courses go to the courses section, not the jobs section.

What we reject

We do not publish a listing that:

  • has passed its closing date, or says applications have closed;
  • gives no way to apply;
  • does not make clear what the job is;
  • duplicates a listing already published;
  • is not an open vacancy, such as a job seeker offering services, an event invitation or a call for CVs “for future opportunities”;
  • is a promotion dressed as a job, such as a paid course, a product or commission-only marketing;
  • shows signs of fraud: a fee charged to applicants, income promised with no defined work, or a personal number to apply with no detail about the job.

How we write a listing

We rewrite every listing in our own words and never copy its text. But we add nothing it does not say. That means:

  • A required condition stays required, and a preferred one stays preferred.
  • Gender and nationality conditions are reported exactly as stated.
  • Pay is shown exactly as the listing gives it. We do not turn “based on experience” into a number, and we do not add a currency or a period the employer did not state.
  • We do not infer the country from the currency, the work mode from the type of job, or the closing date from the publication date.
  • Information missing from the listing is left out, never replaced with “not specified”.
  • We do not call a job a “golden opportunity” or comment on its requirements.

We record the source of every listing we publish. Before publishing, we check the job title, the employer, the country and city, the specialty and the way to apply.

When a job is removed

A job stays live until the closing date the listing gives, or for 45 days when it gives none. It then moves to the archive of expired jobs, drops out of search results and loses its apply button.

Report and salary figures

The job market reports and the advertised-salaries page are worked out from the listings published on the site itself, as they state them. Salaries count only listings that give an amount, a currency and a period, and a specialty appears once it has at least three such listings. The figures are what employers advertised, not a survey of market pay. The editor writes a commentary on every report before it is published.

Independence and advertising

Publishing on Madar Jobs is free: we are not paid by employers to publish or rank their listings. Any advertising shown on the site is kept separate from the content and has no bearing on which jobs we publish or reject.

Corrections

If you find a mistake in a listing or a report, email [email protected] or use the Report a Listing page. We correct it once we have checked it, and we remove a listing that proves misleading or that its employer asks us to take down.
