About the CV Builder
The CV Builder turns your details into a clean, single-column CV that applicant tracking systems (ATS) can read. It checks the common problems that get CVs filtered out, such as a missing phone number, a summary that is too long, or achievements with no numbers, and gives you a print-ready document plus a plain-text copy for online forms.
When to use the CV Builder?
Use it when you want a clean resume fast without opening a design program: applying for a first job, replacing an old file full of columns and tables, or preparing an English version next to the Arabic one for Gulf employers. A single-column layout works for beginners and senior candidates alike.
How to use the CV Builder?
- Choose the CV language and a template.
- Fill in your contact details, summary, experience, education and skills. Write each role on its own line, separating title, employer and dates with |.
- Press “Build my CV” and review the quality notes under the preview.
- Print it as PDF, download it as Word, or copy the plain-text version for application forms.
How to read the result
After you press the build button you get a preview and a list of quality notes pointing out what the resume is missing. Fix the notes, then print it as a PDF, download a Word copy to edit later, or take the plain-text version for application portals that ask you to paste your resume.
Tips for a better result
- Fill in the target job title so it appears at the top of the resume; it is the first thing a recruiter and a screening system look for.
- List experience from newest to oldest and give each job three to five achievements instead of copying the official job description.
- Download the plain-text version after building and read it: if the order still makes sense, applicant tracking systems will read the resume well too.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Adding a photo or star and circle skill ratings; tracking systems cannot read them and they take space from real content.
- Writing dates in different formats in the same resume, or leaving out a start or end date.
- Sending the same resume to every job. Adjust the summary and the order of skills to each posting; tailoring matters more than layout.
Note: The template improves the chance of being read correctly, but it does not guarantee an interview; content and tailoring decide that.
Frequently asked questions
Will my CV pass ATS screening?
The layout follows ATS-friendly rules: one column, standard section headings, no tables or graphics. Passing also depends on matching the keywords of each job, so tailor the summary and skills to the ad.
Can I edit the CV later?
Yes. Your draft stays in this browser, so you can come back, change any field and build it again.
Should I add a photo?
Most employers in the Gulf accept CVs without a photo, and photos can confuse ATS systems. Add one only if the job ad asks for it.
