Responsibilities

• Keeps the entrance and hostess desk staffed at all times, welcomes arriving guests promptly and warmly, and leads them to their tables with menus
• Takes bookings, reservations and enquiries in line with the Restaurant Reservations SOP and F&B standards
• Looks after VIPs and regular guests personally, remembering what they prefer and request along with any dietary requirements
• Stays well versed in local information, in-house services, seating plans and restaurant operations in order to assist guests, and coordinates with service colleagues so dining runs smoothly
• Respects guest confidentiality, keeps the hostess area clean and organised and attends the required training sessions

Requirements

• Proficiency in English, covering reading, writing and speaking
• Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level
• Acquaintance with Micros and Epicure reservation systems
• Strong customer service skills, backed by professionalism, integrity and a willingness to cooperate in a team
• A proactive, well-organised working style and respect for cultural differences
• Compliance with Jumeirah’s grooming and service standards

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality
