Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests, helps them choose from the menu and keys their orders into the POS, with any changes or special requests
• Takes cash and card payments, issues receipts and gives the right change
• Prepares hot and cold drinks to the recipe, portion and presentation standards
• Adjusts the grinders, pulls espresso and steams milk to the right texture and temperature
• Reconciles transactions against the drawer count taken at each end of a shift and reports discrepancies
• Observes the hygiene, allergen and food-safety rules and keeps the cashier area, the beverage station and the coffee equipment tidy
• Checks ingredient quality, labels and dates stock for storage, tracks use and waste, and flags shortages or faulty equipment
• Coordinates with the kitchen and service team so orders go out accurate and on time

Requirements

• Hands-on familiarity with espresso, milk steaming and coffee equipment
• Basic numeracy and comfort handling payments and the POS system
• An eye for recipes, taste, presentation and order accuracy
• A friendly manner, clear communication and willingness to act on feedback
• Staying organised under pressure
• Reliability, honesty and a cooperative approach
• Awareness of allergens, hygiene and food-safety practice
