The post sits between design, the technical office and the site: models are coordinated with architectural and MEP disciplines, checked against design documents and kept current through to the as-built stage.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains structural Revit models for reinforced concrete and structural steel elements, along with the Revit families, modeling standards and parameters they rely on
• Produces structural shop drawings, plans, sections, details and documentation straight from the model, and pulls quantities, schedules and project information out of it
• Keeps models consistent with approved design drawings, specifications and BIM standards, including naming conventions, worksets, levels and grids
• Coordinates structural models with architectural, MEP and other disciplines, runs clash detection and follows each issue through to resolution
• Reviews and validates models submitted by BIM engineers, and compares drawings and models with design documents to catch discrepancies
• Joins BIM coordination meetings and works with Structural Design, the Technical Office and site teams so design requirements are implemented properly
• Prepares and updates as-built BIM models from approved site modifications and final project documentation
• Supports the BIM Manager or BIM Coordinator on BIM execution requirements and project standards, and tracks delivery of models and drawings against the schedule

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure, with proven experience developing and managing structural BIM models
• Knowledge of structural BIM workflows, modeling standards, LOD, documentation and project BIM requirements
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and structural engineering software
• Experience modeling RCC and steel structures
• Experience in BIM coordination and clash detection
• Good understanding of structural drawings, shop drawings and construction details
• Knowledge of Revit families, parameters, worksets and model coordination
• Ability to work independently and lead junior BIM team members

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Navisworks for model coordination and clash detection
