The engineer handles Hitachi Energy power systems and service solutions at customer locations, from first installation through later upgrades and retrofits, and steps in when a critical service issue or customer escalation comes up. Responsibilities

• Installs, commissions, tests, maintains, repairs, upgrades and retrofits power systems and electrical equipment, following technical procedures, contract terms and customer expectations
• Diagnoses electrical, mechanical, control and protection system faults and puts corrective actions in place
• Gives technical support remotely and on site, settling customer issues and responding to critical service cases
• Carries out preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance, and recommends changes that improve equipment performance, reliability and lifecycle management
• Writes service reports, fault analysis reports, risk assessments, method statements, repair records and other site documentation to company standards
• Builds customer relationships and spots openings for service agreements, upgrades, modernization projects, digital solutions, spare parts and refurbishment
• Complies with health, safety, environmental, quality and regulatory requirements, in line with the company’s values of safety and integrity

Requirements

• A related technical discipline is accepted alongside Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with transformers, substations, high-voltage equipment, power quality solutions, protection and control systems, grid automation solutions or power systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer sites, often on short notice, and potentially internationally
