Design and estimation project engineer job details in Beirut
The post works in direct coordination with the client and also coordinates site activities between the factory and the client. It combines structural design with a sales side of cost comparisons, proposals and customer visits.
Responsibilities
- Performs structural analysis and design, mostly for horizontal elements such as precast, prestressed and post-tension slabs and RC slabs and beams, and draws floor and building solutions in direct coordination with the client
- Compares costs and applies value engineering to pick the most effective structural system to price or execute, then presents the solutions to the client
- Delivers design solutions and drawings to high quality standards in time for project schedules
- Coordinates site activities with the factory and the client
- Calculates and estimates flooring systems and structures for quote opportunities, and writes clear proposals and quotations for prospects
- Guides clients to the right products through a consultative sales approach, comparing products and their advantages
- Follows up on opportunities sent directly to the company by phone and visits, explains the quotation and closes the sale, and helps sales staff with introductions and with closing their own prospects
- Builds relationships with current customers in the assigned market segment to generate new business, and takes part in trade shows and conventions
Requirements
- Knowledge of prestressed theory
- Knowledge of the ACI 318 and IBC / UBC codes
- Software knowledge of ETABS or Robot, SAFE and AutoCAD 2D, with 2+ years of work experience with AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Excel
- Ability to calculate all structural elements by hand
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of PCI 7th edition, PTI 6th edition or other prestressed codes, if already acquired before training
- Knowledge of Adapt, RAM or other prestressed software, if already acquired before training
