Responsibilities
- Carrying out full psychiatric assessments, reaching diagnoses and building individual treatment plans
- Prescribing and reviewing medication, and referring patients onward when needed
- Tracking how patients respond so treatment stays consistent and effective
- Working with colleagues from other disciplines on joined-up, patient-centered care
- Advising and training other healthcare professionals, including through clinical consultations
- Keeping clinical records accurate and complete
- Supporting psychiatric hospitalizations when needed, and staying available periodically after hours for urgent clinical situations
- Overseeing the clinical and administrative side of the clinic where relevant
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree
- Completed residency in Psychiatry at an accredited program
- Board certification, with eligibility for licensing by the Kuwait Ministry of Health (MOH)
- Sound clinical grounding in assessing, diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions
- Understanding of the healthcare regulations in Kuwait, as well as its professional standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience with patients and clinical teams from different cultures
