Paramedic

Responsibilities

• Treats and stabilizes emergency patients both outside and inside the hospital, staying within the privilege list authority and the approved medical protocols
• Meets patients’ cultural, physical and medical needs, maintaining confidentiality and following EMS protocols
• Operates EMS vehicles and equipment and keeps them well maintained, completes the administrative tasks that leave vehicles ready for deployment, and uses medical supplies without waste
• Anticipates problems and responds appropriately, using feedback and problem-solving to make patient care and the workplace better
• Takes part in EMS staff meetings on updates to operations and on care protocols, and works with other staff members on teamwork
• Follows developments in EMS and healthcare, and continues professional development, from keeping skills current to educational awareness and research
• Takes on further duties assigned within the job’s scope

Requirements

• Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support)
• EVOS (Emergency Vehicle Operator Safety) certification and a valid Light Transportation Driving License
• Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), listed among the required licenses and certifications
• A STEP English Test score of 65%+ or an IELTS score of 5.0+
• Excellent English and Arabic, both spoken and written
• Physical ability for the work
• Basic skills with computers and Microsoft Office

Preferred qualifications

• Ability to drive an ambulance
