Responsibilities

• Works alongside the class teacher during lessons: helps follow the class schedule, helps children stay focused and attentive, helps correct their work, and listens to students attentively and reads their word cards
• Keeps attendance records and carries the attendance form to and from the office, records students’ progress and contacts the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) about it when needed, and puts notes into the children’s reading folders, looking through the folders each morning for new ones
• Looks after class displays, games and visual material, such as written or drawn bulletin boards tied to what the class is studying, as the teacher directs, and sets out art-class materials and utensils and clears up after every lesson
• Upholds the class and school rules and guides student behavior, and keeps the classroom safe and clean
• Prepares, supervises and cleans up after snack or lunch time, such as wiping tables, washing cups and plates and helping children collect their food at the counter, and teaches proper hygiene manners and helps children change clothes after an accident
