Responsibilities

• Teaches the assigned subject from provided lesson plans and, when needed, develops such plans from the provided pacing charts, applying the SABIS Point System in class
• Marks exams in the taught subject according to the department’s schedule and material, and proctors exams as required, keeping the test environment adequate and properly managed
• Raises concerns about student discipline and academic results with the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) and the Head of Department (HOD) when needed
• Supports, guides and motivates students whose academic performance is low, so they can improve and reach their full potential
• Develops or follows up on preparation for external exams by working through previous exams, as set out in the structured revision schedule, for grade levels where it applies
• Prepares for and joins student life events and activities, among them art, open houses and physical education, working with the Student Life Coordinator (SLC)
• Helps with other school duties when assigned, such as testing students, covering for absent teachers, arranging students for lunch and the buses, managing crowds and traffic, and administrative tasks
• Attends training sessions requested by school management to deepen understanding of the SABIS system and lift student performance, and takes on other related tasks it delegates
