The director sits in the leadership team of Special Projects and takes each project from concept to completion, aiming for delivery on time, within budget and to a high quality standard. The post is the link between internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, suppliers and operators, and gives strategic oversight across multiple concurrent projects in a luxury hospitality portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Leads and oversees development, renovation and capital projects across the portfolio
• Drives delivery from concept through completion against time, budget and quality targets
• Keeps stakeholders, consultants, contractors, suppliers and operators connected
• Provides strategic oversight of several projects at the same time
• Leads and develops a team of project managers
• Shapes projects that support operational and commercial objectives

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years in the Dubai or UAE market
• Proven record on large-scale hospitality, mixed-use or luxury development projects, including five-star hotel developments, renovations and fit-outs
• Extensive experience managing timelines, budgets, risk, procurement and contractor performance
• Strong knowledge of tendering, contract administration and project governance
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while keeping quality and operational standards
• Leadership experience managing and developing project teams
• Stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
• Degree fields also include Construction Management and Project Management
