The supervisor works on the floor as the link between the team and the guests, and also supports management on people matters such as hiring, training, scheduling and evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Keeps the team working together so service stays at its best, and inspects staff grooming and attire, correcting any shortfalls
• Handles opening and closing duties, from setting up supplies and tools to cleaning equipment and areas and locking doors
• Checks storage areas for organization, FIFO use and cleanliness, runs scheduled inventories and requisitions the supplies needed
• Watches the dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being
• Submits work orders for maintenance repairs
• Supports management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating and coaching staff, and serves as the first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process
• Follows company safety and security policies, reports accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager, and completes safety training and certifications
• Welcomes guests to company standards, anticipates their needs, assists guests with disabilities, and proposes ways to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety or cost savings

Requirements

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and placing objects of up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods, up to an entire shift
• Moving through narrow, confined or elevated spaces and up and down stairs and service ramps, with reaching overhead, bending, twisting and stooping
• Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for handling objects of varying size and weight
• Visually checking small print and inspecting tools and equipment for defects

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least 2 years of related work experience
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
