Responsibilities

• Carries out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on ground support equipment and forklifts, following OEM specifications and the GSE Supervisor’s assignments
• Services passenger boarding bridges and airport buses, including periodic and on-site maintenance, and helps with their modernization
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots faults in boarding bridge controls, components and systems, consults the manufacturer on changes to existing electrical controls, and suggests solutions to GSE technical problems
• Reviews maintenance assignments, from preventive and routine to emergency, and prioritizes them around any ad-hoc requests
• Manages stock levels of GSE spare parts and tracks where parts go
• Fills in the shift’s work log and the paperwork for each work order, and responds to maintenance calls when requested
• Works from repair manuals, basic schematics and instructions from supervisors and managers, using the tools and diagnostic equipment the job calls for
• Follows safety and security procedures, reports hazards, injuries, ill-health or near misses to the supervisor, and cooperates with the employer on workplace health and safety

Requirements

• Experience across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics maintenance
• In-depth knowledge of maintaining passenger boarding bridges, low-floor airport buses, heavy-duty equipment, ground support equipment and forklifts
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and troubleshooting charts
• English language test at level 4, with a passing grade of 60%
• Verbal and written communication, teamwork, problem solving, initiative, motivation and work ethics

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of IT and spare parts stores
