What the senior manager safety job in Doha involves

The post belongs to the QNB – Qatar business unit. Its holder assists the Safety team in rolling out the departmental safety program and also runs the safety systems, so that procedures and guidelines are followed and standards meet the requirements for the Group’s staff, properties and international assets.

Responsibilities

• Supervises emergency, scheduled and routine safety work on equipment and on electrical and mechanical systems, and checks that fire alarms, firefighting systems and other safety equipment are functional
• Prepares the safety team’s daily task schedule, the yearly safety program covering the electrical and mechanical equipment of Group premises, and the checklists and visit schedule for bank premises
• Works with the Purchasing Department on requisitions, quotes and higher approvals for safety equipment and parts, scrutinizes invoices for safety and maintenance work, and keeps a verified record of what security equipment each branch receives while monitoring its maintenance cost
• Coordinates with external safety companies and the safety maintenance company, monitors maintenance done by outside service providers, and builds working relationships with related departments
• Provides safety services to QNB departments within agreed SLAs, helps customers with queries on the bank’s products, and gives auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk timely, accurate data when needed
• Implements safety KPIs and best practices with an eye on cost efficiency, and makes sure QNB policies and safety procedures are followed in all Group premises, international ones included
• Reviews safety systems, and the contracts that maintain them, at international subsidiaries and branches, and guides safety personnel there on preventive safety equipment
• Investigates offenses at an initial stage and reports the findings, follows up on fire drills and safety check-ups, and sets up safety for new branches by gathering requirements, preparing the layout and getting quotes for an integrated security system

Requirements

• Safety or security certifications held alongside a university degree
• Relevant experience of at least 8 years

Preferred qualifications

• Experience at an international bank that is highly rated
