About the Procurement Engineer job in Amman
The Procurement Engineer secures materials and subcontractors at the right cost and on time, from the first procurement plan through to delivery on site. The role also includes reporting procurement status to management.
Responsibilities
Develops project procurement plans aligned with the construction programme
Prepares RFQs and tender packages for materials, equipment and subcontract works
Sources and prequalifies suppliers and subcontractors and maintains their database
Compares bids technically and commercially and makes recommendations
Negotiates prices, payment terms and delivery schedules
Issues and manages purchase orders and subcontract agreements
Tracks long-lead items, expediting and delivery to site
Coordinates submittals, samples and material approvals with design and site teams
Monitors procurement budgets, cost savings and variations, and reports status to management
Requirements
Solid knowledge of construction materials, MEP and finishing items
Strong negotiation and commercial evaluation skills
Good understanding of contracts, subcontract terms and FIDIC
Advanced Excel skills for bid analysis and tracking
Excellent English and strong communication skills
Preferred qualifications
Experience with ERP or procurement systems such as SAP or Oracle
CIPS or a similar procurement certification
