SAP Program Manager

Basrah Mas Company, an oil and gas company, has a vacancy for a SAP Program Manager in Basra, Iraq, to lead its SAP S/4HANA program from start to finish. The post is a 12-month fixed-term contract that can be extended.

About the SAP program manager job in Basra

The program manager makes sure system design, controls and supporting contracts match the company’s operating model, delegation of authority and procedures. Work is mainly remote with periodic on-site visits to Basra, and working hours overlap Iraq business hours.

Responsibilities

• Running program governance: planning, budget, risks, change control and executive reporting
• Turning the operating model and delegation of authority into SAP requirements through fit-to-standard design
• Aligning approval workflows, release strategies and authorizations with the approved delegation of authority
• Managing implementation and support partners against service levels, plus the SAP subscription
• Leading segregation-of-duties design, access reviews and audit readiness
• Delivering documented SAP environments, including data migration, testing and cut-over
• Building in-house capability so routine changes no longer depend on external partners

Requirements

• Strong functional knowledge of MM, FI/CO and PS
• Working knowledge of SAP Activate and fit-to-standard design
• Experience managing SAP implementation partners, support providers and subscription contracts
• Experience in SAP security, authorizations and segregation of duties
• PMP, PRINCE2 or an equivalent certification
• Fluent English
• No current employment with, or commercial interest in, the company’s SAP implementation or support partners

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition (RISE with SAP) and SAP GRC
• Knowledge of SD and HCM / SuccessFactors
• Experience in oil and gas, EPC or construction, and in the Middle East
• Arabic
