About the business development officer job in Amman
Sales targets are set monthly and quarterly, and the officer does not work alone: Datahub’s data architects and consultants help shape each solution. The offer on the table ranges across AI and machine learning, BI dashboards, data warehouses, big data, data lakehouses and data governance.
Responsibilities
- Finds and qualifies leads through referrals, vendor partners, events, email, cold calls and LinkedIn, aiming at clients in banking and financial services, aviation, telecom, retail, government, manufacturing and supply chain
- Meets decision-makers such as CEOs, CDOs, CIOs and data management directors in discovery meetings to learn their data challenges
- Scopes solutions with the architects and consultants, then puts together proposals, quotations and answers to government tenders and RFPs, with compliance and pricing included
- Negotiates and closes deals
- Maintains the CRM and sends weekly reports covering the pipeline, the forecast and the results
- Returns to existing accounts to win support contracts and follow-up projects, and to upsell
- Pursues joint opportunities with technology partners, including special pricing
- Keeps an eye on competitors and market trends in data and AI, in Jordan and the region
Requirements
- Track record of reaching sales targets
- Background in selling consulting, data, software or IT services to businesses
- Solid grasp of analytics and data concepts such as AI, data lakes, data warehouses and BI, with the ability to translate them into business language
- Strong skills in presenting, negotiating and closing
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken
- Experience with a CRM such as Odoo or a similar tool
- Related degrees, including Engineering and Data Analytics, are also accepted
Preferred qualifications
- Existing customer network in Jordan or the GCC, among enterprise accounts
