The manager advises top management on risk for each legal issue and keeps the company’s legal operation within local laws and in line with headquarters policies. Government agencies and external law firms are regular counterparts.
Responsibilities
- Finds legal and business solutions for top management, gives risk-management advice on each legal issue, and advises every unit of the company, including opinions on taxation and regulatory incentives
- Files and maintains contracts, certificates, licenses and other legal documents, and monitors and renews permits, licenses, the annual company register registration and other statutory documents
- Prepares resolutions and other documents the business needs, such as board and shareholder resolutions
- Reviews, drafts and amends contracts and legal documents, and prepares the company’s standard contracts
- Monitors compliance with laws, regulations, contracts and license conditions, tracks and communicates new laws and government policy, and reviews and prepares internal regulations, rules and policies to meet statutory requirements
- Watches that the company does not infringe others’ patents, copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights
- Follows ongoing cases and advises management, liaises with external lawyers and supplies their documents, represents the company in reporting and filing cases, and follows each case through to the final decision and execution of the judgment
- Works with government agencies, external law firms and the parent company, and takes on other tasks assigned by the supervisor or head of department
Requirements
- Valid lawyer’s license
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning and legal research ability
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Independence and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and stay calm and resilient under pressure
- High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to regulatory compliance
- Team-player attitude, proactive approach and willingness to learn
