Responsibilities
Runs the purchasing cycle: collects requirements, requests quotations and issues purchase orders
Selects and manages suppliers on quality, cost, reliability and service, and negotiates pricing, contract terms and delivery schedules
Tracks orders and deliveries, resolves supply problems and updates the teams concerned
Maintains procurement records and supplier files, keeping purchasing within company policies, budgets and applicable regulations
Reviews purchasing trends and costs to find savings and process improvements
Works with departments to forecast needs and keep inventory at appropriate levels
Requirements
Experience preparing purchase orders, evaluating quotations and working with suppliers
Strong negotiation, communication and organizational skills
High attention to detail when working with purchasing data and documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and with procurement or ERP systems, including SAP
Competencies in supplier relationship management, cost analysis, planning and prioritization, and problem-solving
Preferred qualifications
Experience managing supplier contracts or strategic sourcing
Familiarity with procurement regulations, compliance requirements and inventory management practices
Experience with procurement analytics or reporting tools
A relevant procurement or supply chain certification
