Production support engineer/prod programmer job details in Basra

Responsibilities
- Records and analyzes data and writes reports across the office, field and laboratory
- Assists geologists and engineers with the electronic, sonic or nuclear measuring instruments that indicate oil and gas potential
- Gathers well and production data, supports well optimization and well failure analysis, and prepares a monthly performance report for each producing well
- Reports KPIs for production, new completes, recompletes and workovers
- Prepares the weekly production, up/down and weekly activity reports, plus flowback reports for new completes and recompletes
- Collects formation, mud and soil samples, prepares them for laboratory analysis and runs scientific tests to determine their content and characteristics
- Logs test results and readings such as well temperatures, pressures, flow rates and watercut, and compares actual productivity with estimates, drawing on reports, computer databases and other sources
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in production operations, including oil and gas operations
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or equivalent related experience can also meet the minimum qualifications
Preferred qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
