About the Job Offer Comparison

A higher salary is not always the better offer. This tool compares two offers on full annual income, including allowances and bonus, and on what you really earn per hour once working hours, leave and commuting time are counted.

When to use the Job Offer Comparison?

When you have two offers and find it hard to choose between a higher salary that is far away and a lower salary that is closer and has more leave. The tool turns the differences into numbers you can compare.

How to use the Job Offer Comparison?

  1. Choose the currency.
  2. Fill in salary, allowances, bonus, leave, hours, commute and remote days for each offer.
  3. Press “Compare the offers”.
  4. Use the difference to decide or to negotiate.

How to read the result

You get the full yearly income of each offer, the value of an hour of work after leave, and the effect of commute time. Compare yearly income first, then the value of an hour including the commute.

Tips for a better result

  • Enter net figures if deductions differ between the two offers.
  • Count commute time there and back honestly, and the days you would work remotely.
  • Add the yearly bonus in number of salaries as stated in the offer letter.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Comparing only base salary and ignoring allowances and bonuses.
  • Ignoring the cost and time of commuting.
  • Deciding by numbers alone without looking at growth and stability, which is why Offer Comparison Pro exists.

Note: The tool does not calculate taxes and deductions, nor qualitative factors such as growth and work environment.

Frequently asked questions

Why count commuting?

An hour a day of commuting adds up to more than 200 hours a year. It changes the real value of your time.
